My name is Vincenzo. It was my grandfather's name, and with it I have carried what feels like "the weight of the choices others made for me."
I graduated in Public Relations and Advertising, writing my thesis in semiotics on Walt Disney's Fantasia. Before that, I earned my high school diploma from a scientific lyceum, with a final dissertation on Italian Neorealist Cinema. I grew up in a small provincial town in western Sicily—not by going to the movies, but by feeding my imagination through television. My hometown is in the Belice Valley, a place I like to call "the Shire," beyond the mountains.
I have spent my life studying. I love reading and writing. I trained as a dancer from the age of nine, and for the past twenty years I have taught classical, modern, and contemporary dance.
But the ending of my story is very different from Billy Elliot's.
My dream of working in cinema remained locked away in a drawer for almost twenty years, forgotten while my Plan B steadily took over. I left "the Shire" at eighteen, only to return at twenty-eight—and, for a while, a part of me died there.
I'm a Scorpio, so I like to think I rose from my own ashes. A few years ago, at the age of forty, I decided to pursue acting seriously. I also attended a screenwriting course in Turin, juggling an office job, life in Sicily, dance, and everything connected to my Plan B—this time finally making room for Plan A.
An agent discovered me, and I began auditioning. I study, I train, and I make sure I'm ready when the opportunity comes, because this industry is built on opportunities, and when they appear, you have to be prepared—both professionally and personally.
I also love drawing, singing, and creating choreography, and I dream of becoming a director. That's why I can't define myself as "just" an actor.
I am an omnivorous creative.
